teething and feeding

hi - will a teething baby find it difficult/painful to feed? Have seen some people on here say that bf is a comfort to the teething baby but mine is clearly hungry (and teething) but sucks for a few gulps then pulls away screaming. She definitely hasn't fed as much as usual today as right boob pretty engorged. She is also getting v full of air as she is gulping - therefore has trapped wind too!

any tips - have tried teething gel just before but doesn't seem to cut it. Time for calpol maybe!?

How old is your baby?
I was going to say that yes, feeding is a natural comfort but if she is in pain then calpol would be beneficial. I never bothered with teething gel at all but could not have done without Nelsons Teetha or Ashton and Parsons powder! Instant calm. I used to panic if I ran out!

she is only 17 weeks so i know its early (DD1 didn't have teeth until 6 months) but I can feel the ridge of the teeth and gums have changed shape in last week or two so pretty sure.

I have never used the teething powders - might get some later then. thanks for advice.
