the things I have to do to get dd2 to feed...

last week whilst out with friends, i had to resort to feeding in the disabled loo as DD2 wouldn't feed as there was so much going on.

today, have had to feed standing up about 3 times otherwise she just pulled off screaming but was then unhappy as she is still hungry!

She has also decided the left boob is only to be used when she is very tired or at night.

I mean really - this is beyond fussy! Anyone else got a picky eater and got some advice on how to deal with it as its driving me mad!

I can relate to this one. How old is DD? I just made sure i timed it so i fed at home with no disractions but very tying.

we went through a stage of walking around continuously.

Have to feed her either in the car or in the loo when out and about. That has got worse as she's got older, but fair enough.

Often I have to give her a toy (we have a frozen one) which she snacks on/off with while latching on/off me.

Kellymom has a section on fussy eaters, but boy it was pretty hellish. Problems petered out around 5 months, were at there worse months 2-4.

Advice hmm. For us it seemed like something would work for a few days, then it stopped and we carried on getting creative. Just remember not to take it personally, because it isn't a reflection of you.

I think our problems stemmed from slow letdown, but if you look up fussy eating on kellymom there is a good section to help work out the root of the problem.

wow I really feel for you

I've bever had this problem and never thought about tbh

I realise now I'm lucky

gecko has always been booby obsessed Grin

she would still now choose booby over a biscuit...after her curry of course Smile

Am going to read the kellymom section as it has been helpful on other things. Penguin - glad to hear others go through this - it is truly doing my head in and I swear it is affecting her sleep at night as she is hungry I think.

even this morning, i had to get out of bed to get her to latch on!

my ds is 6 months and this is driving me mad - he will be crying with hunger, trying to latch onto my face, but yet I can't get him to feed. it's so annoying! i have to just keep trying till suddenly he gives in and settles down to a feed. much patience is needed!

My ds is 7 months and is really distractable at the moment. He loves his solids at eats anything and everything but seems to prefer solids to milk at the moment. He has a good feed when he first wakes but is really hard to feed during the day. Most days he doesn't ask for a feed at all (I offer feeds anyway.) Even before bed (which used to be his best feed) is a struggle. Its affecting his sleep as well - he has started waking in the night again hungry. He is distracted by the slightest noise or movement and even if there is nothing going on he will stop feeding to play with my clothes! Its driving me mad.

I used to have problems with over supply and a very fast let down which has finally resolved in the last month, but I think he has now got to an age where he preferred the fast let down and gets frustrated if he has to work for it.
