My little boy is 6 months and a week, and despite latching problems, thrush and a blocked duct we've had 6 fabulous months and I'm loving it. He's had not a drop of anything other than breastmilk and I'm so proud of us.

He's an absolute monkey, currently giggling and cooing as he wiggles on my knee as I type this.

I will start BLW in a few weeks and I want to capture every last second that he's 100% mummy made (other than one teensy sperm Grin). We'll have a last photo before he is given anything but I am so torn between looking forward to the fun of exploring new foods with him and him taking another giant leap to independence.

Just wanted to share :)

well done you. bf is bloody hard work! i blw dd who is 15 months. its been the best ever and she eats brilliantly. if you dont have the gill raply book over cook veg sticks are a good starting point. good luck

Well done - it's great to hear of people that have overcome their bfing problems.

It is hard when they start sold food isn't it- almost like they don't need you any more!!

I did blw with ds who is 15 months too and can't rate it highly enough. It's so much fun (and a lot of mess) watching them try out new foods and yet as you don't actively drop milk feeds, you still get the closeness of bfing. It's a no brainer really. Smile

interesting you say that about the last photo - I am doing a peer supporter course atm and that used to be a tradition apparently. I mentioned it to DH and he also thought it's a lovely idea so one we'll be doing too.

PS congratulations on your 6months :)

Well done! :) It's a fantastic feeling looking at them and realising you did it all.

(And BLW is so much fun.) :)
