Baby vomiting- what to do?

Baby is six weeks old and has been vomiting on and off for nearly a week. Last tuesday we actually had to take her to A&E as gp wasn't open (bloody bank holiday service) and they said she must have a virus/tummy bug with vomiting and diarroeah and just told me to continue breastfeeding her as normal...vomiting started again yesterday, she brings up quite a lot of milk once or twice a day and twice last night, she is moodier than usual (normally a very happy, friendly baby) and is sleeping a lot. Also she has what looks like a red rash on her arms. Took her to the gp yesterday who said it's nothing to worry about and to wind her mid-feed, but I am still concerned as she is not really herself...has anyone had any experience of this?also at night her sleep is quite fretful, she stirs and groans quite a bit, which is out of character. help!

Sounds like she's poorly Sad Rash could be viral - does she have a temp? With a baby this young I would always see health professional if I felt worried (and bugger whether they thought I was an anxious parent).

On the vomiting front, I'm afraid that both mine puked a lot in the normal course of things. Continuing to breastfeed frequently is absolutely the best thing for her.

I agree with Rhinestone....this sounds like a baby who is not well and this is something for the healthcare professionals, not a talkboard, I think. You've taken her to the doctor who told you it is something which is nothing to worry about, and of course this may be the case :) But if you are still worried, then speak to another doc . Hope things get better soon.
