Is my EBM making my baby sick?

Sometimes my LO has big mucousy projectile vomits. She is 7 wks. I've noticed a pattern where this seems to only happen after she has had a bottle of EBM. We were using a Tommee Tippee Closer to nature bottle, but I thought the flow was too fast so changed to a breastflow bottle which I used for the first time this evening. She will have the EBM, then later will BF like a lunatic, latching off and rooting and crying to latch back on. Then when I wind her it all comes back up. If its not the bottle, is it the milk? I freeze it in a chest freezer so it should be ok, it is never more than 2 wks old. Its only every now and again she gets a bottle. Any help much appreciated!!

Is it possible she is taking more from the bottle than she would have from a BF and then when she sucks for comfort, gets even more milk that she can't fit in and so it makes her sick?

Sorry if I haven't explained myself very well. I know that when ds1 had a bottle of EBM he could easily drink whatever I had expressed (which was also a fair bit more than I thought he would need). He could manage 9oz which I sure was more than he got from me. He also got far worse wind from a bottle and was more likely to be sick bringing up wind after a bottle of EBM than a BF.

Could it be that she is getting wind from the bottle, my son had trouble with this and it was the same with many different types of bottle. The frantic breastfeeding could be for comfort rather than hunger if she is going on and off. Then the sick afterwards is a mix of the wind and extra milk?
The only thing i can think of is trying to split the bottle feeds and wind a few times in the middle rather than doing a whole or half feed before winding and keeping her upright for a while after each feed.

That was what I suspected, hence the change of bottle, as she would gulp down 4 ozs in about 2 mins flat. She definitely had to work harder with the breastflow, and only got about 2 ozs out of it. She never gets sick immediately after the bottle though, its always a few hours after, following a BF. I always wind her when she starts the latching on latching off business and usually she brings up wind straight away and then feeds properly again. Tonight though, I winded her twice and she brought up wind but continued the frantic latching. When I went to wind her again she got sick.

I agree with Fernie it does sound like you need to wind her more. I would try winding her after every oz. Although she's not showing signs of discomfort until later I still think she is taking air in with the bottle then the milk from the bottle and then from the later BF is sitting on top of the wind so that when she finally brings it up she brings up all the milk as well.

I used to get the same problem with my DD whenever she had EBM. It was actually quite impressive how much she could throw up in one go.
