Breast Milk = Farty baby

My son doesnt get much wind at all. None in fact usually. However his farts are louder than DP or I could manage and hes only 3 weeks old.

The poo is also very wet although Im told this is normal. Are explosive farts normal too? They dont cause him any pain and oddly they dont smell bad (popcorn is the closest smell I think)

I was amazed and appalled the first time DD farted. How could something that small produce such an adult sounding fart?

MarineIguana · 19/12/2010 19:26

Explosive farts, exploding liquid poos... my DD grew out of this at about 5-6 months (though now of course we have smelly grown-up poos). But OMG when she was tiny - she would wait till the nappy was off then shoot a loud, liquid farty splatster right across the room. At the first hint of a fart we'd be ducking for cover!

Knittynoodle · 19/12/2010 20:33

We have opened his nappy and caught him mid-splatter before now too. Looks like I have a long way to go with this if they continue for 5-6 months!

My bf baby is a champion farter, I dread him doing it when we're out and about because you can tell people don't believe that he can be responsible for the accompanying noises!
