DS2 is 8 months and I made up a days worth at a time. Wash the bottles, sterlise, and mix 5 bottles. Cool quickly by sticking them in basins of cold water (and change the water when it warms up etc). Make sure you store them at back of fridge where coolest.

babyrose - have you not read any of the links I have put on other threads where you've been asking questions about how to prepare formula?

it's not a case of a simple "it's ok" - you need to understand the preparation method and the risks.

formula needs to be made with water which is 70 degrees C (1 litre water cooled for 30 minutes).

Then rapidly cool the bottle under the cold water tap and store at the back of a fridge, having checked that the temp is < 4C in the fridge.

Bottles should be stored at the back of the fridge and not the front.

Minimising the storage time is prefereable.

Cleaning and sterilizing of bottles is even more important if you are going to be preparing in advance.

yes it can be done but you need to do it safely, make the bottles up as normal and cool them rapidly in cold water, then store them in the main body of the fridge towards the back and use within 24hrs. Def don't store them in the door as the temperature is not regular due to the door being constantly opened and closed.

below is a link to a pdf file from WHO website, p16 onwards relates to using infant formula at home

Hope you find this useful :)

1 litre of water boiled in the kettle and cooled for 30 minutes
