can I mix cow's milk and formula in the same bottle?

I'm starting to introduce cow's milk in to dd's diet as she's 1 in four weeks. I've been giving her a bottle of ready mix formula at night, can I mix some cow's milk in there and gradually increase the amount of cow's milk until there's no more formula in there? The rest of the time she's bf.

I can't see any reason why not but why would you bother? (may be some issues about temp of formuls affecting cow's milk maybe?)
Just wait 4 weeks and give her cows milk. Does she have cow's milk on her cereal, this may be an easier way of introducing it.

its ready mixed formula so its cold already, I was going to put both together and heat them up together. I really thought of doing it because I had half a bottle of ready mix and I was going to top it up with some cows milk to make a full bottle, rather than a way of gradually introducing cows milk. She does have it in cereal so no problems with it as far as I can see.

I was planning to do this when I weaned my twin boys onto cows' milk but actually once they'd had the first mixed bottle (50/50 cows' milk and formula) wit no problems, I just decided to do 100% cows' milk fro the next bottle and that went fine so just stuck to cows' milk from then on, seeing as they liked the taste and didn't react badly at all - they'd already been having cows' milk in porridge, on cereals, etc so was fairly sure they weren't allergic. Saved all my expensive cartons of formula for being out and about and used them for convenience.

I did with DD as she rejected the cows milk initially. DS1 didn't notice any difference. With DD took several weeks to get her onto 100% cows milk.

Cant see why dodgy - by same arguement (it might be mixed wrong) using formula at all is dodgy.

I made it up in advance, quickly chilled it and then added the cows milk just before feeding.

However if your baby accepts cows milk can't see why you'd bother.

If the formula is cold already I can't see the problem, other than it may taste a bit odd.

But that's what I did with DS when we reached the last box of formula (well, the last bit) so did a bit of a half and half, and then putting less formula in (ie spacing out the stuff left, and mixing it with cows milk over the course over about a week or so

Thanks for those, I didn't think it should be too much of a problem. I only ask because I thought I could top up the half a carton of ready mixed formula I have with a bit of cow's milk to make a full bottle. No other reason really. I know she's fine with cow's milk. Mind you, with only four weeks to go until her first birthday I could probably just give her a bottle of cow's milk without any problems... couldn't I?

Yep, definitely could do. But if you have cartons available you might as well use them up doing half and half
