I am feeding my 6 week old DD, I am wanting to introduce a pump so I can start to freeze the milk for future reference (ie: when someone looks after her)

How can i do this without making an over supply, getting sore, or messing my milk supply up completely?

ALSO DD is being treated for thrush, and i have read that you can store the milk whilst she still has this because of contamination - which i understand. but how long after treatment can i start to pump?

I did a pumping session every morning after the first feed of the day (when you've got plenty) which usually produced enough for one good bottle (though variable depending on night feeds / sleep etc). Soon builds up if you freeze it and if you do it daily, you produce the right amount to accomodate that too. Can be a bit of a bore, but all about finding the right moment to do it (preferably when your small has gone back to sleep) and you can do it watching the TV or similar.

No idea about the thrush I'm afraid.
