I think if I was a Mum-to-Be I'd be totally put off bfing at the moment reading the threads on here including people often referring to bfing as being hard.

Well it can be, it was for me for the first few weeks with DC1 but then it got much, much easier.

Some of the things I loved were:

Feeding him when I got home from work - such a lovely time to reconnect and forget about my day.

Not having to go out and buy formula.

Not having to take bottles etc out with me - I'm really forgetful and a bit lazy.

If they did wake in the night I could feed them and be back asleep within 15 mins thanks to the lovely oxytocin.

It kept my weight down.

So come and share your good bits.

I love this thread! I had forgotten the excited laugh when they see boob. I loved the grins when they were still feeding with milk dripping down their chins. And that blissed out feeling for both of you.

I also loved it when I was engorged and ready to burst and then a few seconds later there was the massive relief after they started drinking.

I loved the slightly comical situations I got into breastfeeding in unusual places. I smuggled DC3 into a funeral and had planned to feed if necessary to keep noise down (I am always able to be very discreet feeding) when I realised I was sitting next to the shortest man in the world, who was exactly boob height when we were sitting down.

Love love loved breastfeeding. The day I did my last breastfeed (2nd birthday of DC3) was a sad day.

Just thought of another one, took DS on to France on a flight. All the other babies were screaming and I just bf DS and he went asleep for the whole flight. Bliss.

When my 5 day old looks up at me with her beautiful shy little eyes and coos and I feel such an overwhelming rush of love for her that the tears stream down my face uncontrollably (I'm even enjoying baby blues).

That already, we have our own little communication system going on.

When I feed her lying down and she snuggles up beside me.

The fact that even with massive engorged boobies, cracked nipples and a sucky sucky baby, I sit gazing into her moses basket, willing her to wake up so I can feed her again.

I'm going to be a PFB mother amn't I? I love it.

Udderly glad you are so udderly in love Smile

Hope you are getting some RL help for your nipples and sorry to show my ignorance but what's a PFB mother?

Look of pure happiness on their faces

Singing (dd & ds) whilst feeding

Knowing its the best thing for them and me

Knowing they have never had any formula, which makes me feel very proud

Having 2 extremly healthy happy children, a few colds in 4 years, no ear infectins etc, which I am convinced is down to breastfeeding

Just the way it made me feel, have done it for 4 years in total and have now stopped and miss it.

Forgot about the singing too, DC2 used to hum Smile

I love her big eyes looking up at me and like someone else said, the little ear print on my arm.
I was also amazed by her ability to snuffle her way to my boob and latch on without any assistance at only a couple of weeks old (she obviously started on my chest to do that and wasn't on the other side of the room.....now that would be amazing snuffling skills)!
