i'd go to debenhams and get the slightly padded own-brand nursing bra - really good support, i've got about 6. only comes in black and white. about 15 quid i think. your size will probably be 'large' until you begin weaning so you might need a few more in 6 months time!

Don't have any nursing bras in ours. Only local place that sells nursing bras is v posh shop about 100 m from my house so v handy & they sell hot milk ones. She is v good at fitting them too.

I'd leave it a bit longer, when dc3 was about 1m I grew out of my only properly fitting bra. 4m now and I'm pretty sure i won't grow any more but now I don't want to spend £££££ as if I introduce solids in 2 months time they won't fit anymore.Maybe treat yourself to one.I've never resolved my nursing bra problems, I can't pay 25 quid for a bra and marks and mothercare are always out of stock in my size except in the useless jersey fabric ones.

these are good if you have mothercare But most other mothercare bras are flimsy.

I've just bought some cheapish ones but I'm huge compared to pre preg ( didn't do this with other two) and v heavy. Also the forever leaking boob is getting sore underneath as it's not getting any air to it.

I torn between waiting and seeing it as looking after myself. What I mean is: last time I bought cheap and was never comfortable or happy with the feel/ support (I'm quite large). This time (ds is 2 weeks) I might buy 1/2 well fitted good quality ones to supplement the vests/ cheap bras and I I outgrow them, then so be it. I could get a lot of wears during one month (last time I only had one for a while Blush and would wash and dry on radiator over night Blush)

I'm now on my third today(dd3 uses my cleavage as a sick bowl) so don't think I'll afford a full set of nice bras. I will get 2 I think then I should be supported quite a chunk of the time.

I've just been fitted for a really pretty and supportive bra in bravissimo, if you have one near they are fantastic! Dd is 9 weeks, the fitter asked how full I was compared to my most fullest and took that into consideration with the fitting. I was wearing (through self measuring) a 38e I'm now the proud owner of a 34g! So much more comfortable and looking way less saggy under clothes too! Highly recommend them.

Oh and I find that lilypadz are fantastic to stop leakage, I tried everything, paper ones made me itch and the drip cup type ones would fill up and then empty when I bent over.....very annoying!

Hi
I would invest in some propper fitting bras they give the best support. I've gone through several sizes as my baby grows and the milk supply gets a little more. Get yourself measured at the shop down the road and then order from the internet. I've got bras from M&S and Debs and you get two for £20.
Fontsnob didn't realise bravissimo did feeding bras, I was saving that for when I no longer feed and am back into normal undies. I'm off to find one now!

Just a quick word of warning - I got 3 expensive bras about a fortnight after DD was born and they're about 2 sizes too big now! I lost a good bit of weight feeding her and a lot of it came off my boobs (and face Sad)

I'm still wearing them as they were so bloody expensive that I can't bring myself to put them away. They're Anita by the way - very good support when they did fit!

MumNWLondon · 04/11/2010 21:12

Buy them but get fitted right after a fed when your breasts aren't full? The fullness settles down at 3 months. The ones I bought when DD was around 2 weeks old were far too big within weeks. Also make sure the back size fits you on the loosest and i found back size decreased a bit around around 3-4 months.

DS2 is 6 months and I am at work during day. I have one bra that fits me - too mean to buy more as I know as soon as I stop feeding it will be too big. Handwash and dry on radiator overnight.

Finally got fitted this pm & now have 1 bra that fits properly Grin
