Biting - how long does it take before he learns not to?

So my 8mo DS now has 3 teeth and as more cut is becoming increasingly more bitey, particularly when he's tired. This is a huge problem as he feeds to sleep.

I'm doing the 'no biting' and stopping the feed as I've read about on here, but how long does it take before he'll start to associate the biting with no milk?

I'm in a similar situation and the "taking away from breast when biting" thing is working for us (did quite quickly really...though this may change with more teeth!)

I can only suggest you stick with it. If ds is tired, hungry and narky (like yours, this is when he's most bitey) I ask dh to take him for a bit till he's really hungr as he won't bite when he realy wants to eat! Smile

Hope he gets the idea soon! Smile

At my BF Peer Support group I was told to try to get the biting over with, before latching, e.g offer an icy cold flannel or cold teether to gnash on to relieve teething pain before a feed. As well as the saying no method. And to try my hardest to stop squeaking when he did bite! It was helpful to me...
