Breast-feeding with two toddlers??

Any mums out there got any advice on how I can cope feeding a newborn and keeping two toddlers (17 & 27mths) occupied?
Through experience I know I could have a baby attached to my boob for upto an hour at a time and I have no idea on how I am gonna cope having my two toddlers running around who also need feeding, changing, entertaining etc, neither of them are at the stage where you can ask them to do something to help or understand that mummy is busy and cant play right now.

My other problem is when I am out and about, my 27mth old refuses a buggy and will walk around holding my hand/reins and my 17mth old is slowly getting the same way, I have no idea how I am going to be able to keep a hold of them or keep them quiet in a cafe whilst trying to feed my newborn, I have a sling which I am going to try but TBH I'm not a fan as they don't feel all that safe to me.

I haven't bought a double buggy because my youngest is starting to out right refuse his single and prefers walking, but if one of my toddlers start having a tantrum I have no idea how I am going to get them home as at the moment I have to physically carry them (or have to sit down and wait for it to be over but they can last well over an hour).

Any advice please?

What sort of sling have you got? It's worth persevering, I wasn't sure about my ring sling when DD was tiny but I used it loads as she got older and will use it again when DC2 comes along. There are lots of sling groups that should be able to help you out and let you try out different slings. I really think it would be the best solution even if it takes a little practise. Try here.

Not done it personally, but seen other mums on here recommend lots of TV time, DVDs, etc.

What sling do you have? Slings are statistically safer than buggies/etc :)

would either of them stand on a buggy board?

lots of tv, buy dvds of their fsvourite programe and have feeding cushion that leaves you hands free to read to toddlers. lots of toys at the ready that they can do themselves eg cars, duplo.

also can't imagine anything worse than trying to fed in a cafe with newborn and 2 other DC and mine are 4 and 6!!!!!

its a fabric sling, not sure of the make but one that goes across your body with the baby cocooned.
I do have a buggy board but unfortuntly it just causes arguements on who gets to go onto it first.
I have turned my dining room into a playroom so I can put them in there with no dangers and keep an eye on them plus all their toys are readily accessible.
Just dreading it I think, may just become housebound for a few months.

Sounds like a pouch sling - babasling maybe? I personally don't like the look of them, I prefer wraps. There are LOTS out there to choose from though, have a look at www.slingguide.co.uk/types/types.php
