What has happened to my happy baby?

I swear someone swapped him on Thursday night for a grumpy baby who looks like him!

DS will be 4 months old tomorrow.

He has been having green poo nappies since Friday, although we have had a couple of yellow ones today, doesn't seem ill in himself but just very windy/colicky. He isn't happy latching on unless he is nearly asleep (except bedtime feed this evening, he latched on fine), just screams, cries, thrashes about and then will either burp, trump or poo and then will latch with some encouragement. This is the child who would never say no to a bit of boob :o

Just seems generally grumpy, is dribbling like mad, has gone from sleeping 8pm til at least 4am to waking at 2am, 4am and 5.30am the last few nights.

He did roll over for the first time today (typically he waited til I was out of the room lol) which would maybe explain some of the changes in his behaviour but I don't understand where all the tummy gripes seems to have come from - he has never been a particularly windy baby, he is ebf and nothing in my diet has changed.

I have literally spent all day walking around with him on my shoulder, except for a trip to supermarket where he was perfectly happy. I have 3 other DCs and I'm shattered, I'm sure it's only a phase but I want my happy baby back :( Not helped when I was having a moan to my best friend about it all and her response was 'well, that's what you get for breastfeeding him' and 'he's attention seeking because he's constantly attached to you' Angry

Sorry for the rant, just needed to get it off my chest I think!

Greem poo can mean that he is not getting enough hind-milk. This can make them windy.

He may be having difficulty because he is teething, or has thrush. Have you noticed any other symptoms?

Might be some teeth on the move. With my DCs it seemed that the build up to a tooth arriving was worse than the actual arrival.

maybe he is teething, wpould explain the not wanting to latch on and the dribbling and the poo! mine all have awful poo when teething

the sleep thing is prob the notorious 16 week growth spurt! it's a killer, but feed, feed, feed and you'll get through it

try giving a little calpol if he is unhappy and see if that helps at all

Teeth.

And that doesn't mean you will see any for ages; teething seems to go on for ages before the teeth actually show.

I've been block feeding since yesterday as I too wondered if it's too much foremilk but that should have addressed that problem if it was surely?

He is dribbling gallons, we go through so many bibs and tops a day so teething is a definite possibility and I remember the green nappies from my other DCs so could well be that.

I wish I had a competant HV I could ring, even if just for a chat - DH is so busy with work and I feel I have no-one to talk to about it. I know you ladies on here can't diagnose anything as such but it's just nice to be able to offload after a crappy day like today so thankyou all.
