ROFL!!! I'll add it to my Christmas list shall I???

mamajinks · 11/08/2003 15:47

Good God!

Guaranteed to make you feel even sexier than you normally would during the first few months post-partum.

vicimelly · 11/08/2003 16:01

lol! I can't imagine anyone wanting to use something that looks like that!! it reminds me of the milking machines they use on cows!! lol

SamboM · 11/08/2003 16:05

That HAS to be a joke!

morocco · 11/08/2003 16:08

Look, believe me, I have a sense of humour, and the pic does look funny - her using the phone and reading 'n all.....but I have just been speaking to a mother of very, very prem twins in SCBU who has two other toddlers at home. She is 'double pumping' and wanted to know how to do it longer-term as the SCBU want their gear back. I have recommended something like this to her, and I think it will really help her.

So, imagining who could use it is not that hard!

I do agree it looks a bit bizaar, though

tinyfeet · 11/08/2003 16:58

Hate to admit this, but I didn't think this looked odd at all. I used the Medela Pump-n-style while I was at work for many months, and I imagine I looked just like this when I was expressing. It is an odd process really, I know, but very practical for those of us who want to continue to breasfeed and go back to work.

motherinferior · 11/08/2003 18:28

REminds me dreadfully of me with my Medela too, omigod.

boyandgirl · 11/08/2003 21:18

I would have used it when I was pumping for no1. I never seemed to have enough hands for the job (or was it too many boobs?)

boyandgirl · 11/08/2003 21:19

I mean, had I known about it then.

princesspeahead · 11/08/2003 21:31

its clearly very useful, as it has freed up both her hands to do the extensive blow-drying and makeup application that she is modelling so beautifully in the photograph!

WideWebWitch · 11/08/2003 22:08

pph! What an attractive contaption, must get one.

judetheobscure · 11/08/2003 23:33

Looks brilliant to me - might even persuade me to do some expressing again if I should have another child. Freeing up the hands to turn book/magazine pages/interact with toddler etc. is a great idea.

mears · 12/08/2003 00:37

Can I say I brought this idea to mumsnet first
here

tinyfeet · 12/08/2003 02:30

bugger off, Mears, and get back to that assignment And aren't you the one who was able to manually express?? I thought that was you, but maybe not.

motherinferior · 12/08/2003 10:16

Can I just say that as I sat there this morning with pump to one breast and breast shield to the other I was even MORE attractive.

Why doesn't she have breast milk splashed all over her????????

aloha · 12/08/2003 11:33

Omigod! I really hated expressing, had to do it without thinking about it IKWIM, but felt like a cow. I know it's a good thing, but....

mears · 12/08/2003 15:34

Yes tinyfeet - that WAS me

mears · 12/08/2003 15:34

By the way, just about to do that assignment

tinyfeet · 12/08/2003 15:51

ok, so bugger off then - I've wanted to say that to you since you told me about the manual expressing.

wobblymum · 12/08/2003 17:30

That looks really useful, would let you double pump AND type on Mumsnet at the same time!! Then when you've spent an hour chatting, you can still say you've spent the time really productively!!

Imagine the reaction of your postie though, if you answered the door like that!

Moomicat · 12/08/2003 22:04

To Mears and others

Can I just say that I used this "contraption" and found it to be a godsend when having to express 3 hourly for my prem baby last October. I am also a breast pump agent for Ameda Egnell via the NCT and both organisations have just adopted this bra as the most useful breastfeeding/expressing product to come out for years. I also now supply these bras to women in the North West who are both successfully breastfeeding and expressing and despite the appearance of them (actually they do come in a varity of styles!) absolutely everyone who has bought one has found them useful, practical, comfy and in almost all cases, milk production has been further stimulated. If that is not a recommendation I don;t know what is!
Cheers! Mine's a pint (of EBM!)

Rhubarb · 13/08/2003 13:12

Dh used to milk cows in his younger years, so I wasn't too impressed when he offered to milk me! All these nightmares of b/f are coming back!
