This thread is quite old now and some of the advice may be outdated. However, we’ve recently refreshed our best bottle warmer guide with plenty of high-quality options recommended by real parents, including portable ones for when you're out and about. We hope you find it useful.

you can either keep a bottle of milk cold or a bottle of water warm - NOT milk warm as it will be a breeding ground for bacteria. I quite often used ready made cartons when out and just served them at room temperature.

or go to somewhere like cafe nero or john lewis that have bottle warmers they will give you when ordering your own drinks - usually my tactic and if DD1 is around she and I people watch and eat cake while DD2 has her bottle.

When DD1 was a baby I had one of these

It was perfect for out and about, just make up the bottle when you need it and stick it in the hot water for a few minutes to heat it up.

The last thing I do before i would go out is to boil the kettle and fill the bottle with the amount of water I would need. I then put it in a bottle cooler bag

and have a power dispenser

It would then cool down over the next few hours

well its clearly not safe to carry around warm milk! with DD and DS I used to carry around freshly boiled hot water and milk powder in a little dispenser.

Now realising that this doesn't work well with the 70c thing as often the bottle would be mixed with room temp water - so if you did want to mix the powder with hot water you'd need to then cool it in your fridge and carry it around in cool bag & then have a thermos flask to warm it up, which is a lot of extra stuff to carry around. I may just use ready mixed cartons when out.
