Hello - my very nosy and interested in everything 4 month old DD has been decreasing her feed times from 45 mins to about 10-15 mins and her weight has dropped from 75th to 60th percentiles over the last few weeks.

I wasnt that worried until today when she has pretty much refused all her feeds and has only had a couple of minutes on the breast each time. I've been getting really stressed and trying to push her on (I know, I know Blush...). Please help - whats going on? She has a bit of a cold but not a blocked nose and seems quite jolly otherwise (allthough she has barely slept today). Am going off to express now but any advice would be gratefully received - am feeling quite upset and worried...x

Hi Mae - is she feeding more at night to "make up for it"? My daughter went through a phase of being not so bothered with boob in the day but made up for it at night IYSWIM. Reverse Cycling is the technical term for it. I had to resort to using nursing rooms when out and about & feeding in a darkened bedroom at home in the end - just so that she would concentrate on the job in hand!
How are the nappies?

As Jetli says, if she's making up for it at night, it all sounds completely normal. The world's an interesting place after all.

If it's a genuine strike/fussiness there could be multiple reasons, with the main culprits being growth spurt and teething. If you google kellymom and nursing strikes there's a lot of information to help diagnose the issue.

Otherwise there's plently of us on here you have survived nursing strikes so come back for more.

Thankyou! I checked out the kellymom stuff and took her to bed last night - she fed 5 times in all! And this morning I offered her the breast (in a very casual fashion! Grin) and she had a goodish feed...So I'm going to continue with the advice from there and will be back if it carries on - lets hope not!
