When do you stop sterilizing bottles, bowls and spoons etc? Is there a recommended guide line for this? I was going to continue until ds is one, he is 6 and a half months at the moment.

6m I believe, however, if you are washing them in a dishwasher may be even earlier than that.

'officially' you should sterilise bottles and teats till 1 year and from 6 months bowls, spoons, etc will do with a wash in hot soapy water.

I don't have the luxuary of a dishwasher. Think I'll carry on but as Seona says just won't worry about streilising bowls and spoons.

hi i sterilized by the book for my first child, but second time around i have been more relaxed, i never sterilized spoons and bowls and decided that since my little one is now crawling, what is the point in sterilizing at all? im sure alot more germs are going in her mouth from things she picks up and chews on than there ever would be on any clean bottle. so have stoped sterilizing compleatly at 7 and a half months.

i sterilise dd's bottles (she's 6 months) but TBH, i hardly ever sterilise her bowls as it's pointles as i haven't sterilised the other bowls, cutlry, foodmixer used to make the food in the first place!
