Changing formulas

My dd is 15 weeks old and had problems eating for some time. She would fight against the bottle and cry out as if in pain. She got very bad trapped wind causing her pain in her tummy and would take ages to get her to burp. She was on C&G stage 1, infacol and colief (as the doctor thought she was lactose intolerant). She then spent two weeks with a very upset tummy - filling the nappy about three times a day and each time leaking out of the nappy in very dramatic style!
We were finally recommended to try C&G comfort which we started around 4 weeks ago, stopping both the infacol and the colief. She did improve immediately, no pulling away from the bottle, hardly crying and the trapped wind improved a lot. The problem we now have is that she is sick after each bottle - not a lot, just a mouthful or two but she has never done this before. She also seems to get hungrier quicker, maybe because it is easy to digest, she digests it quicker and needs more?
Do you think we can risk swapping back to the original milk, since she is now older and may be able to tolerate it better or shall we just leave well alone and deal with her being sick and hungrier?
I'm not keen on swapping formulas too much, but will if it might make her more comfortable. Can you mix formulas together at all? I don't think you can, but just asking. Thank you

Have you tried the aptimil comfort? DS was on the C&G comfort milk and it definitely helped him but yes he was sick on it more often, and the nappies were something else! Hmm

Personally wouldn't recommend switching back to C&G stage one - we tried to when DS was about 4mo and the wind problems came back immediately (just my experience though)

It might be a coincidence that she's taking more milk - 16 weeks is classic growth spurt territory, so it might just be that.

Also, what teats are you using? I know the comfort's very thick, but DS could never manage the variable flow teats as they were just too fast for him

Thank you for your reply Jareth - it sounds like you have had a similar experience to us with your DS.

Our DD is using single hole, medium flow teats - stores own brand. We tried lots of different ones, and these seemed to suit her best. `did you change from C&G comform to Aptamil comfort? If you did, were there any problems and did your DS improve.

I'll steer clear of C&G stage 1 if it made your DS worse, there's no point risking it. Thanks again.

We didn't actually try the Aptamil one, I didn't discover it until DS was about 8mo and it seemed silly to change (he was on C&G1 by this point)

tbh, if it's only a little bit of sick, and she's otherwise fine then I'd stick with it a little longer (maybe a couple of weeks?) It sounds like she may be taking more than she's used to and the last bit is just bouncing back up again (obv I'm just guessing here!)

ahh.. you've brought back some memories here (DS is almost 3 so formula is far far behind us now :))
