JUst a thought. My Mum always told me that she lost her "baby weight" from pregnancy once she stopped bf. Happened with all four of us(me and siblings). I understand that they say bf helps weight loss cos of the calories you burn but to be honest it just makes me hungrier and eat double the amount of calories I'd lose anyway. Have tried to cut down(on food) but after six months still have my baby weight stuck(and sticking out) around my hips. So what do you think? Does bf really aid weight loss and if that is true...do I just eat too much??? :o and and did anyone else find they lost the weight when they stopped bf???

I think it's like any weight loss thing, if you expend more calories than you eat, you lose weight. BF means more calories expended, but if you grab a hobnob to dip in your tea each time you sit down to feed, you will use up those calories fast.

It is harder though, as your body is telling you to eat more, plus being tired and stressed with a baby makes you want to eat more.

I'm currently slimming into my wedding dress ( I get married when DS is 10 weeks). I lost 2 kg last week on a sensible diet, and daily long brisk pushchair walks, but if I didn't hae that target, ~I doubt I would be losing anything.
