Lansinoh sensitivity

I've posted on here several times (under my old name, emster) about the problems I was having with BFing. I'm now at 8 weeks and I feel we've really turned a corner and I'm finally feeding pain free, YAY! To those of you who have advised me, thank you so much for your help and support.

However I think the main reason it's suddenly improved is that I realised on Friday that it might be the Lansinoh causing the problem. I am sensitive to lanolin and normally avoid hand creams etc which contain it. However I had done a patch test with the Lansinoh on my arm and figured it was so pure it would probably be OK. I have been slathering it on my poor sore nipples for the last 8 weeks. However since Friday I haven't used it and my nipples have got less and less sore each day since! How stupid am I?! Just thought it was worth posting in case anyone else might have the same problem.

It might also be that I'm trying to space out feeds a bit more - he is much happier and more settled with big feeds every 2-3 hours than constantly grazing as he was before.

Either way, I feel like we've cracked it, for now at least, and it's great!

That's fantastic! Well done you! My DC2 caused me excruciating pain for the first 8-9 weeks cos she simply wasn't able to open her mouth wide enough.(I think Hmm)

Anyway you've done so well. It'll get so much easier from now on.

Congrats and Hurrah!
I hadn't thought about Lansinoh sensitivity, cos I'm just not sensitive to anything, so I never consider it - so I'm glad to hear about that! I hope it's plain sailing from now on for you :)
