While I was in tesco I saw some aptamil first cereal which had milk powder in it, yet it was just to be added to cool water.

Is this because the guidelines are different for babies over 6 months who are eating food anyway or because its wrong/not safe?

If you are following the guidelines and not weaning until 6 months there is no need to buy any baby cereals. You could try Ready Brek with milk and fruit, it is much cheaper.

You know what? You should call Aptamil and find out. Or I might. I have always wondered how they wriggle out of questions like this.

Seona1973 · 12/09/2010 15:46

is it formula milk powder in it though or bog standard powdered milk?

Ineedsomesleep - I don't think the OP was planning on buying it, just asking a question.

MumNWLondon · 12/09/2010 19:34

No I wasn't planning to buy it, I agree baby food so expensive, will use some baby rice for first few weeks and then use ready brek. Not sure if it was formula or milk powder but don't think it would make any difference.

As I am not going to buy am not going to call aptamil just wondering if anyone knew. With my older DC I used to add formula powder to ready brek and cool boiled water.

MumNWLondon - good Q! I have never looked at these products.

Let us know what Aptamil says.
