I make up ds's milk with 70 degree water, add gaviscon, and shake but the milk spurts and leaks out of the sides!

Does anyone else have this problem?

Does anyone have a solution?!

swirl rather than shake maybe

I do swirl quite gently, but it sputters out of the sides because of the heat of the water.

Also it does need to be shaken at some point to dissolve the formula and gaviscon.

I gave up on these as they not only did this but leaked in use too. I use soya which needs a really good shake to dissolve. The only solution I found was to make each feed in an avent bottle, hakes then transfer. To be honest I didn't feel they made a difference.

You are a genius, Strawberrycake (or I am an idiot!) - I am now mixing in an old Avent bottle, saving myself the £15 for a Dr Brown's mixing jug (FFS!), that I was about to buy from Amazon.

To be honest, I'm not sure if they help with ds's reflux, but he drinks 4 or 5oz every 3 hours with them, rather than the 1 or 2oz every 2 hours that he was managing with the Avent bottles.

Thankyou for the repliesSmile

Dr Browns bottles are notorious for this - I think on their website they simply say "swirl rather than shake" which is of limited assistance. Just so you know it's not you doing it wrong!
