FF - quick q re making up bottles

Stupid question probably - ds is six months and I am moving from bf to ff; not at all familiar with making up bottles as I just used the ready made cartons occasionally when I was bf. I thought I could make up all bottles for the day in the morning and keep them in the fridge till I need them? Can I not? What do you do? It's awfully time-consuming to make them up as needed I find, getting temp right etc...

Thanks in advance

I have always made them up as per instructions and put into fridge.

Same here. Made them up for the day and put in the fridge.

Really, formula should be made up fresh each time and with water of at least 70C (but not boiling).

As your baby is 6 months, you might be happy taking the risk of leaving it in the fridge - up to you.

OP the most important thing is to make the formula up with water which is 70 degrees C. (this means boiling at least 1 litre of water and leaving it for 30 minutes).

The best leaflet is this one which explains how to make formula and cool it and store it.

For more detail see this WHO leaflet.

That's really helpful tabouleh, thanks for taking the time to post that link

we also make the days bottles up in one go and store in the fridge for use throughout the day. I think the key is to make them up hot (water 70 degrees) and to then cool them quickly (we stick them in a sink of cold water for 15 minutes) and then they go into the back of the fridge.

I then ping them in the microwave to take the chill of them when they are needed (they get a good shake to remove any hotspots of course).
