Cluster feeding

When o when will it stop?! DS is 7 weeks and I can't get anything done of an evening as he is on me from 5 to about 10 frantically feeding. (By 'anything done' I mean eating, having a shower, putting DD to bed btw, not housework god forbid!)

If I knew there was light at the end of the tunnel I may relax a bit!

It will all be over soon.Your ds needs to feed, ask for help and sit and feed he will be crawling around and asking for a biscuit very soon.Try and enjoy.

Thanks. I know every baby is different but generally when does it stop though. 3 months? 4 months?

IME it ended about 2-3 months.
Can you eat when he is feeding? Something like a bowl of pasta that is easy to eat one handed?

fifitot · 31/08/2010 08:07

Thanks. Well nearly 2 months so hopefully not much longer!

I think it was about 3 months (although I found week 12 the worst, possibly because everyone kept telling me it would get better at 3 months!) - definitely by 4 months DD's feeding has settled right down and I have my evenings back!

It's really hard, poor you.

fifitot · 31/08/2010 08:24

Thanks. I've done this before 4 years ago when had DD but seem to have wiped the horror of cluster feeding from my memory!

Well done for keeping going, it is really hard.

IIRC it stopped about 11 weeks, but see, I can't even remember! This too shall pass! I did find a wrap sling allowed me to do a couple of bits eg start dinner or make packed lunches so I felt like I hadn't been welded to the sofa for 6 hours straight. It is soo hard but it does end Smile

fifitot · 31/08/2010 08:29

Yes was thinking about a sling so I could feed at the same time as carrying him around. In fact I may buy one today as the thought of another night glued to the sofa fills me with desperation!
