Breast pads/shields - which ones

Does anyone have breast pad recmendations? I have tried pigeon pads - best so far, two types of Johnson - itchy scratchy and ineffective, and washables - good for use as a coaster under my bedtime calmomile. Every night I have to change them and my bra and my t shirt at least three times - pads are just too small to cover a moving/sideways flopping boob! Is there an industrial strength pad? I have tried using sanitary towels instead but doesn't really work.

I've got the Tommee Tippee ones (on offer in Tesco at the moment) and they are the biggest I've found. Combined with a close-fitting bra they're pretty good at keeping me dry at night.

On really bad nights I've used washable baby wipes stuffed in my bra!!!

I used tommee tippee ones but the other day I had to get Lansinoh because they were out of Tommee Tippee ones and I am a convert - they are bigger than the TT ones and provide great coverage for my 38J boobs!

I just got the baby up (morning here) found him wet through so needed to change him
top to toe - cue screaming himself purple with indignation - and then carried him through to the kitchen. Thought - what! Bugger! My boob had been dry until then but sensing s crying baby had spouted through pad, bra and t shirt - all over dry baby, who is now soggy again and unless I change him again will now smell of stale milk all day. Better stale milk than wee?

How about the shells that collect milk? Not to sleep in but they would have coped with the unexpected flood Smile

Which washables did you try? I've got some of the Boots ones which are a bit scratchy and rubbish and I also have some Imse Vimse organic cotton ones which are very big and very soft and comfortable. They were ludicrously expensive (£9.99 for 3 pairs from Babipur) but will probably work out much cheaper than disposables in the long run.

Mind you my boobs are only 34C so my big and comfortable might be someone else's titchy and useless.

I think the Boots slim ones are the same as the lanisoh. Personally I like the Tommee Tippee ones as they're less crinkly IYKWIM, but the lanisoh are slightly bigger

The boots/lanisoh ones are IMO better than the TT as they are bigger and they can absorb much more leakage before they loose their shape.

Don't even bother with supermarket own brand ones. Got to be the expensive brands I find!

I also find washable ones a bit useless, but I double them up with a TT or Avent pad, which looks pretty bulky but works ok.

At night I don't bother with a bra or pads but sleep on a folded up towel as I found it so rank to wake up with soggy boobs. At least this way they get a chance to dry out!
