My 8 week old baby has been suffering from terrible colic to the point where we have taken her to hospital twice because she was in so much pain. The one day she didnt sleep for 15 hours straight! We have tried everything from colief to infacol, dentinox, gripe water, gaviscon, dr browns bottles, nothing seemed to work. One dr told me to stop breastfeeding, saying that it was causing the problem! Being a first time mum, I listened and stopped for 24 hours but cried the whole time because I didnt want to give up. I went to the hv who suggested I give up dairy and lactose as my baby may be lactose intollerant. I have started bf again but my milk supply has almost dried up so I am giving her lactose free formula as well. So far it seems to be working thank goodnes! Im keeping my fingers crossed. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this or has any advise about starting bf again. I really want to ge5t back to bf exclusivley and atm she is havng more formula because my milk supply has decreased. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

others will be along who know more, but block this week out in your diary and spend the week in bed skin to skin, feeding as often as often and for as long as possible. It might take a little time to cut out the supplements. Pumping as well if the baby too tired to suckle.

breastmilk contains lactose so if she is lactose intolerant she will not be able to tolerate breastmilk either. Your lo could maybe be sensitve to cows milk products in your diet so you could try cutting them out.
