20 month toddler feeding constantly

.. And it's driving me nuts

DD has always been a frequent feeder but I did hope she'd cut down a bit by now. She's already on 'feed' number 8 this morning, she's constantly doing her sign for mummy milk and tugging at my top. When she's away from me at nursery or with DH she's fine but me she treats as a mobile milk factory. I've even found myself getting a bit jealous of the cuddles she gives DH because with me it's all boob ...

I would really like her to cut down and now I also have the added complication that I will be away from her for work for a week in September. Should I try to cut down before this so the cold turkey will be less dramatic?? And if so how, given she has a massive strop if she doesn't get her milk as soon as she demands it...

Advice please, wise mumsnetters!

Hi KiwiPanda no real advice but lots of sympathy. I have a sleep thread going on dd at he moment but could have easily written your feeding thread. DD is 15mths so younger but still feeds every couple of hours with no sign of let up...gruelling isn't it. Funnily enough dd copes well without it if she has to eg I am out and she is with dad, hopefully your dd will ve the same when you go away.

God, I'd kill for every couple of hours!! DD will literally be coming over and making the gesture/ tugging my top every 15-20 minutes...Not that I don't sympathise of course Wink

My DD is 22 months and will feed a lot if we are at home playing. I think some of it may be down to boredom, I find if we go out then she doesn't ask as much. Could it also be teething? My DD asks a lot more if her teeth are giving her trouble.

I would try distraction first, is there a playground nearby? Or you could just take her for a walk.
