6.5mth old bf reducing feeds - normal?

hello

i'm baby led weaning my dd3 at the mo, she is just over 6.5mths now and started a few weeks ago.

she normally feeds 7-8 times in 24hrs but in the last week the feeds have really speeded up especially her night one which use to take up to 30 mins is now 10mins. Some of her feeds during the day are only a few mins long when they are normally at least 10 mins.

I know i'm weaning her but she is not actually swallowing that much yet, i know she is swallowing some bits as she now poo's as opposed to passing mustard Blush

so she can not be getting filled up on the small amounts of food she eats. i also make sure i bf her before i offer her food as i know bf is more important right now and the food is more for exploring.

i've booked her to get weighed next week so hopefully she is still gaining weight.

just worried about her feeds because on teh blw thread i'm on many mums said their babies were still having the same amount of feeds at 8mths and i've only started blw a few weeks ago.

could she just be managing to get the milk faster, could it speed up that much? surely a baby on ff could not drink a whole bottle under five mins?

also i am just wondering if she is trying to drop a feed during the day?

my real fear is she is weaning herself off the breast. i would be so upset!!!! dd2 did this at 10mths and i was not prepared for it. she would not do it this early?

she is just so nosey and comes off constantly to look around.

They do really speed up.I think it sounds normal. They just get better at getting the milk out,but will often still feed for a long time for the "going to sleep" feeds. She won't be weaning off the breast at her age,so just keep feeding and all will be fine.(If she starts refusing all feeds then she is probably teething and then give her calpol and keep offering the breast.)
