Hipp formula

Has anyone any views on the Hipp formula?

Both ds' have been mixed bf/Aptamil fed and ds2 is now 8 months old. Aptamil has been fine. I tried a few different ones with ds1 and stuck with Aptamil with ds2. No bones with the product, but the price is becoming ludicrous and seems to be creeping up by a couple more pence every time I buy it Sad.

Has anyone tried the Hipp 6months+ milk? I'm thinking about switching as it's significantly cheaper.

why is it more expensive???

hellooo · 12/08/2010 21:35

Yeah we use Hipp.

They're all much of a muchness really.

I am just starting the Hipp 6 months plus from Aptamil stage 1! Seems fine so far.

I gave DD the Hipp follow on (3 years ago now) and she was fine with it, and it was under a fiver thenShock

Have you checked the amount in the package? I know their growing up milk (or whatever awful name it has) used to be in a smaller packet, so seems cheaper than other brands - just wonder if they've pulled the same trick with the follow on?

funtimewincies · 13/08/2010 11:41

Well spotted Hopefully, despite the packaging looking the same size (800g Hipp, 900g Aptamil)

It's 87p per 100g for Hipp and 94p per 100g for Aptamil, so looked at it like that not enough of a saving to bother I suppose Smile. I don't bother with follow on milk, so only another 20 weeks or so to go.

Er, if you're bothered isn't one Organic and the other not?

funtimewincies · 13/08/2010 14:15

That doesn't bother me much, it's just that I'd seen it and knew it wasn't one that I'd tried with ds1 (I tried several other cheaper ones and he just sicked them everywhere).

We grow most of our own fruit and veg, so lower pesticide residues at this end anyway.

I use formula when I go out for a drink (DD is 1) and have a sitter and we use Nanny formula. Very expensive but we don't drink cows milk at home so decided to do the same with DD.
