The loneliness of the late night cluster feed...

Anyone else out there going through a massive cluster feed session right now?

I know it's normal...

I know it's probably a growth spurt...

But I just really want it to finish now so I can sleep - we've been going since 10pm and I think my nipples might fall off

Some hot sweet tea and choccie bichirs would go down a treat right now (hint hint dh)

And as for feeling resentful, let yourself feel it, it's a normal thing to feel. It will pass.

(Sorry, I know it is a bit crap to just come out with a lot of "it will pass", "you will get through it" stuff but it's really true, and I can't think of anything more helpful, not knowing your personal circs)

Thanks dorothea in a much better place tonight - managed to get some sleep and a bit of a break from feeding. Also managed to pay ds1 some attention, so guilt levels have dropped a little!

Could happily have sold the little bugger to a passing gypsy last night though. Ended up co-sleeping at about 3am and he eventually dropped off (my boob and to sleep!)

Anyone on cluster feed duty tonight?

Hi lla - I'm here! had a marathon session earlier this evening so not sure I'd this is the start of another one or just a top-up...

Hello! Just found this thread after a night of hourly feeding 12-5 for 12 week ds. Felt like I wanted to die at ever wake up call! May be joining you ladies tonight

I know it will pass but right now I would give anything for 4 or 5 hours uninterrupted sleep. When it wasn't him going off it was 2.8 dd (although dh is on duty for her, thankfully)

bouncingblueberries · 13/08/2010 19:50

Hellish day and evening yesterday. Turns out it was due to the return of thrush Sad

Sick fed up of sore nipples and if ds2 hadn't gained an astonishing 11oz last week, think I would have given up by now. But 11oz is something to be proud of, so I'm going to keep going come hell or high water!

Anyone going to keep me company tonight during the toe-curling feeds that I know are in store for me? [feeling sorry for myself emoticon]
