Hello

I sent my MIL to sains to buy the lanisoh (sp?) breast pads that were on speaicl offer (I live abroad, i'm not just lazy!)

How many breast pads am I going to get through if I breast feed?

Do you change them after every feed? How many feeds roughly do you do a day?

Thanks

I use either the lansinoh ones or tommy tippee. in the beginning I changes them in the morning ang in the evening, but from about 5 months only change once a day.
more often if sweaty or milk is dripping more than usual.

2 am still getting through 2 pairs most days change morning and night.

the boots own brand super slim ones are the same as the lanisoh ones - i use these or tommy tippee.

OMG I got through at least 10 breastpads a day for the first few months. I leaked terribly when I fed, but not much in between. Even after 6-7 months I still had to replace one breastpad after each feed.

I would stock up on as many as MIL can carry, but I must admit I found the store's own cheap breastpads just the same as the more expensive ones. They just saved me a lot of money.

Lansinoh ones are a great choice for early on as they're good for sore boobs. From the second week I was only using a pair a day, and so used washable avent or nct silk ones. Didn't leak much, but just enough to be embarrasing if I forgot. Used them up to 8 months or so, and now, 1 year in, I only use them when travelling or if I'm going to be away from DS all day without expressing.

I use Tesco's own brand and find that I'm changing them twice a day to stay fresh. Never tried the Lansinoh ones.

Tommee Tipee ones I've tried in the past (with DS1) and found them to be brilliant.

oooh - use washable ones - much cheaper, better for the environment and also don't dry your nips like the cottonwool ones which helps healing. The ones I used are here but there are lots of other options - even silk topped ones!!

FWIW I used two pairs a day - changed morning and night - unless boobs were having a weird leaky day which happened about once a month I suppose
