Just wondering...I have been BF for 10mo and haven't had a period or any sign of one yet.

Has anyone been through this...i.e. not had periods, still been feeding their LO and then found out they were pregnant?

Not that I'm concerned or anything.....!

FX for DD! Don't tell DH!

Wouldnt matter to me if we were living in a box I'd still be thrilled.

What is FX?

FrozenNorth · 29/07/2010 21:25

I did - DD1 was nine months old. I'd had one period though, and from my calculations ovulated on calendar day 26 of the subsequent cycle, 3 days after we'd finally started having intercourse again. Yes, DH was thrilled to learn that there were nine more months of abstinence awaiting us (pelvic rest due to recurrent miscarriage). Wonderful DD2 arrived when DD1 was 17 months.

Well....

I did a clearblue digital test this morning and it was negative

I think it is definitely for the best though - bad enough we are living with my mum with DS, 2 dogs and our cat. I think mum would have had a heart attack if there was another pitter patter!

BUT it has made me re-think, I wanted to wait until DS was about 3 before we had another but after a very sleepless night I think we'll start trying once the house is built and have them closer in age.

Thank you mums for all your replies and fxs, much appreciated.

Sorry it wasn't quite what you were hoping for - but like you say, now you can think things through again and make sure the timing is just right. FX for the future x

thanks margeaux - I have a nice vision of preparing the nursery in my new house (everything brand new) and having some lovely time alone with my newborn. Not 4 of us in the same room falling over each other and keeping my folks awake all night!

My SIL was exclusively BF her 7mo PFB when she found out she was 1mth pg. Her DC2 was born 3mths early. There are 11 days short of 12mths between her DC1 and DC2.

The pregnancy was unexpected. It proves that exclusive BF is not a reliable form of contraception.
