He is almost 8 months, and mostly breastfed for his milk feeds, and is on 3 meals a day plus two snacks. He has been having a bottle around 10 ish for a few months in prep for my return to work (mornings) and this has been going fine, sometimes he drinks more than others, sometimes he wants it earlier/later.

He has just had a tooth break through, day before yesterday so is likely giving him a bit of pain. He has refused the bottle for the last 5 days, and has only settled with bm. Today, he clearly wants the bottle, he is complaining when he does not have it, but he is also complaining when DH gives it to him, and refusing to drink it, pushing it away.

Temp is right, teat is warm. Is there anything else we can do to get him to take it?

what about calpol for the toothache?

To add. We now give him a yoghurt at about 10am is, I guess this would fill him up enough, and maybe we could drop the mid morning feed completely? I just worry as he is now just started crawling and standing and doesn't stop moving that he needs the calories even more now.

DH has given up for now, and DS is now happy playing with toys and his big sister, no crying or winging. Maybe he just didn't want it and did not want to be held while DH tried.

nevergoogle how goes it up north? i spoke to someone in Edingburgh the other day, glorious sunshine he said, while is chucked it down here in Devon!

He has been having calpol for the pain, and some gel too, but right now it does not appear to be giving him pain, just thought the gum might be a bit sore with a bottle teat on it.

life not entirely super

i wouldn't worry, he'll take the bottle when he feels like it. missing a few bottles here and there isn't going to leave him malnourished.

if it's the teat that's a problem you could try a cup i suppose.
