6.5 month old refusing bfeeds in day should I worry?

DS4 is 6.5m, exc bf'ed til about 24 wks when weaned, mixture of spoonfed and blw. Is an absolute gannet, eats anything and everything - weaned earlier than planned as sitting up, grabbing everything and irritable when seeing others eat.

He has 3 meals a day but sometimes miss lunch depending on where we are etc. Instigated by him.

He is now refusing day bfeeds, has both sides bfeed at bed then 1-3 feeds at night. Yesterday he had bfeed at 6 then refused til 3 (only had porridge for breakfast no lunch), then bedtime feed at 7, woke for feed at 1 and 5 and nothing since.

I offer breast before food and after makes no difference, he is v distracted but still doesn't feed in quiet dark room in day. But he does 'ask' for food - shouting when he sees anyone eating!

Should I worry? What can I do? Other DS's still had 4+ feeds a day at this age.

I woulndt worry my 7 month old doesnt bfeed much in the day either usually in the morning and evening, he's putting on weight and is happy and alert, and loves his food.

Thanks, it's a relief to hear it's happened to others and was ok.

Am posting from phone on hols so apologies for delay in replying as poor reception/connection.

Thanks to mistressploppy for posting on other thread - don't know how I managed to duplicate- phone won't let me post on that one.

He went 15 hrs without feeding yesterday, finally fed at 8pm, thought my boobs were going to explode! Sods law that we came on holiday yesterday for 2 wks and I've left pump at home! He then had 3 feeds in the night can see today being the same....

There is something called nursing strike, where babies can refuse to feed. It's usually a phase that passes, but i dont know much about it, sorry.

I'd also be carefull about adding to much solids to such a young babies diet. It can lead to early weaning. I'd always offer milk before food at this age.
