Quick question - how long do growth spurts last?

DS is 3 months old and seems to be going through a growth spurt. Can anyone tell me roughly how long it will last, and how long it will take for my milk supplyink catch up with his appetite? He's EBF. Many thanks in advance!

I am in no way qualified in BFing support. But I fed both my children, trying to remember what a growth spurt was like. Don't think it should last longer than a week. I would feed every couple of hours for maybe two days. That should increase your supply, then you should be able to return to your normal routine.

I think that generally worked with my two.

Piece of string?

DS's 6 week one lasted a week and a half - that was the longest he had. The 'sleep regression' side of growth spurts (ie frequent night waking) can last a lot longer though - can be weeks.

As long as you keep feeding on demand, your body will catch up pretty quickly. Kellymom says they usually last 2 or 3 days, occasionally a week or more.
