I love reading - my dyslexic 15 year old has never read a book herself and really wants to.i have read lots of novels to her over the years but now she wants to read one by herself and i really need help to fine one please!

She loved ‘The Help’, ‘The 100 year old man who climbed out the window and disappeared’. She loves the interest of real peoples’ stories, but struggles with sadness and people suffering. Then we have the added complication of her reading age being around 9/10 years (although reading comprehension much higher)

she does listen to audiobooks but really wants to read an actual book. Any recommendations please?

How about something slightly different?
My DD liked Gilded series by Christiana Farley at this age. The books aren't to long and responsibly easy to read.
My DD wasn't a big reader, but needed a book from home for school to do reviews...

Ann Patchet is great - State of Wonder is a good story

Isabelle Allende is also a brilliant writer - captivating, easy to read.

Or Sadie Smith - White Teeth?

I Capture the Castle, by Dodie Smith? A fun romance.

At that age I really loved Flambards by KM Peyton, although its attitudes to disability won't have aged well.

Also - Agatha Christie! Death on the Nile is a good one to start with.
