As above I love crime and mystery novels set in France. I've read the ML Longworth series, Peter Steiner, Peter Morfoot and the Mark Pryor books set in Paris. I've also read several of the Bruno books but they started to get a bit repetitive and ridiculous.

Would anyone have any suggestions, not.keen on cosy crime or anything romantic.

Should have said I've also read the Sandrine Perrot series set in Brittany

Try the Jacquot books by Martin O’Brien set in marseille and the Luberon. Some plots are a bit daft but I’ve enjoyed them in a Bruno sort of way.

Have you tried the Louise Penny series set in Quebec? Good for a Francophile!

I’ll take a look at the Quebec books… heading over there within the next year.

I quite fancy living in Three Pines, but it seems to have Avery high crime rate😁

It does yes, there's a lot going on but they always catch the murderer so it's still safe.......

I enjoyed Death in Bordeaux by Allan Massie; set in 1940. First part of a trilogy. Not the slightest bit cosy.

Fred Vargas would be worth trying. I've read The Chalk Circle Man & Wash This Blood Clean Clean From My Hand a while ago. Her books are quite witty & quirky if I recall correctly. She's won various rewards.

I think that My Husband by Maud Ventura is set in France

Thanks everyone, I've now discovered Celestine Courbet by Tim Becker, set in Bordeaux, I've read the first one and really enjoyed it.
