What better way to wile away a chilly winter's eve than with a spine-tingling read? Our January Book of the Month, The Woman in the Window by A J Finn is just that, following an agoraphobic woman who believes she has witnessed a horrible crime in a neighbouring house.

I read this today and thoroughly enjoyed it. Got one of the twists pretty early on, but not the main one. Fabulous story, characters and writing.

Just finished this book. It took me a little while to get into it, but have read the second half this evening. Real page turning stuff! Look forward to the chat. Hard to think of questions without spoilers. Fab book!

Read this in a few days (well, audiobook) and really enjoyed it. Got one twist from outset as it was quite clear (perhaps not meant as a twist??) but enjoyed all the same!

I read this last week. I really enjoyed it. I read it in a day. It was intriguing. I knew there was going to be a twist at the end, but it could have gone a few ways.

I read this book when it first came out and I bloody loved it! The twists and turns are so cleverly written.

Before I started reading I wasn't sure I was going to have time to finish it before the webchat. It was so gripping I stayed up until the early hours to finish it. I read quite a few thrillers and can usually guess the 'twist' by about halfway in. I didn't get this one until the very end. It's very cleverly written and as its told from the perspective of a very unreliable witness I wasn't sure who to believe.

So pleased it's going to be a film - my DH will enjoy it provided I can keep quiet and not spoil it for him!

I'd like to ask, did you know from the outset what your ending would be or did it evolve as you wrote? Or did you change your mind at all?

I really LOVED this book, the characterisation of the protagonist was brilliant. I really got her existence in the house (and I am the opposite of agoraphobic). Really great.

I bought this book about a week ago. Really struggling to get into it at the moment but the comments her make me want to persevere. I think it's just a little different than I am used to and I'm a little frustrated that the characters job is described as a psychologist when I'm guessing given their medical training they are actually as psychiatrist. Ok, off to start reading it again.

Yes Honeyroar, the copy of the book I have says on the inside back cover that's it's going to be a film with Amy Adams, Gary Oldman and Julianne Moore.

FYI...very interesting article by Ian Parker in the New Yorker (11th Feb.2019 issue) on the author...read it before you read the book if you can....

@SorchaMumsnet why do you link to Amazon? A company known for causing huge harm to the book trade (and retail in general) as well as treating their employees like rubbish? Then there's their questionable tax situation? It would be great if you linked to different bookshops every months, maybe gave some independents a boost or even just Waterstones?!
