Landlord harassment

Hi all,

I’m an overseas worker and unfamiliar with the local laws, but I’m confident my landlord’s actions are not legal. He frequently sends a plumber to my room without notice to check for "leaks", which almost never exist so I suspect it’s just a tactic to monitor me. He also threatens me with tenancy violations while allowing other tenants to get away with the same behaviour. How can I address this to prevent them from using the "emergency" excuse? Thank you.

Ps - I am working on moving.

Hi,
Not really helpful but i would Look at your agreement and see what it says. I would then contact organisations such as Citizens Advice or even Shelter for advice. Or if you can afford it a solicitor.
Also look to your council website for advice on tenant rights.

That's not good, I am sorry to hear this. Definitely try Citizen's Advice. Google Citizens Advice and the name of your nearest town or city to find your local branch. Their advisors are volunteers but they are well trained. Their advice is free.
