Just watched this documentary on Channel 4 on demand. If you get a chance to watch it on catch up you should do. It was very illuminating.

It's not illuminating it just puts words to black girls and women's truth.

Sorry I should have said illuminating to me. I've had to deal with these issues for many years and have been made to feel that the problems were more to do with me than the people I work with. My female siblings never had the level of issues I had and thought I was being paranoid and I started to believe them.
Its nice to know it isn't just me but really sad to know how many of us go through the same crap on a daily basis.

How much like you are they?

Do your family, friends, neighbours etc ever speak about their experiences?

It's not uncommon to have a similar experience to someone who is an acquaintance rather than a sibling. However if your family and yourself were never in the habit of speaking to people you don't realise that.

Having a young disabled DD, I found it really depressing, rather than illuminating. This programme didn't tell me anything I didn't/don't already know/haven't already been through.

I also just read this article, and found it similarly, depressingly true of my experience:

I havent watched all of it as yet but what I saw, didnt even scratch the surface. I dont feel sad, just ever more determined; albeit Im not fighting to stay in UK anyway, it was just a £££ means to an end so I can spend 4-7 months away in my heritage country each year. Thank God.

I hope you're not feeling too down tho OP. I know it hits us all in different ways. I will watch in its entirety over the weekend
