I should know better.

Im 33.

I researched my hair type today and I have 3c hair, low porosity.

I've been using heavy shampoos and conditioners for years.

I don't detangle my hair unless I'm washing and conditioning it. It would be painful and practically impossible otherwise.

I only wash once a week, if that. Even so, I pull a handful out of my brush. One of those brushes that is 5 combs stuck together. I've tried the branded detangling brushes and they don't touch the surface.

I can notice thinning because of all the hair I'm ripping out everytime I wash.

I don't know what else to do.

I don't have the time to go to the hairdressers.

Any advice would me much appreciated.

Any products? Tools? Smile

Mostly 4, on the board here, I'm guessing. This might help.

Hi Ladies,

I want to move about 5-10 miles outside of London, in any direction.
But the problem I’m having knowing, which areas have a black community!!

I have a 12yr old daughter in Secondary school, and want there to be a black presence there.

What areas would you suggest?

Please HELP, I’m putting my property on the market very soon.

Thank you

When it is wash day, what is your process?

My sons are a mix of 3s with my youngest having finer hair. They both have a lot of hair and I do their hair several times a weekand wash once a week.

I spray their hair with filtered water (live in a hard water area) using the tangle teaser spray bottle (got it on Amazon) until it’s damp. I use a pound size amount of Kinky Curly, rub my hands together and rake it through their hair before starting to detangle. I separate their hair into three places (left, right, bottom). I start at the ends of their hair first and use the tangle teaser for wet hair to detangle and any bigger tangles I use my fingers to gently pull them apart before going over it again with the tangle teaser. I do this until their hair is thoroughly detangle and usually let their hair air dry. I’ve recently added Phil Smith Be Gorgeous Curly Locks Curl Control Cream to enhance their curls and keep frizz down and it has helped tremendously and has made it where I only need to comb their hair every three days despite them running around at nursery and school and my oldest using his hair as a napkin (he’s autistic).

When I wash their hair, I use a co-wash conditioner on their strands and then what I do above. Saying that, since you use shampoo, I found using a pre-shampoo on my hair, washing it out and then using a shampoo bar, concentrating it on only my scalp and using conditioner only on my hair and using the Kinky Curly to detangle worked wonders with decreasing the amount of tangles I had. It used to be about an hour to two sometimes and now it’s 15 minutes if that but I have a little 3C hair and the rest 4s.
