It seems the age of exposure to institutional racism is getting lower.
twitter.com/MartinBarrow/status/1503738983922216966 I hesitated to post this when I came across it this afternoon but it has now been reported in the media tonight. As at this afternoon none had reported it and it happened last year.

An apology isn't enough! They all must be sacked and investigated for s**ual assault. But how do we stop these sort of things from happening? It's bad enough experiencing racism as an adult but how can children be treated in this way by the authorities?? Surely we can't be a society that stands by while this sort of thing happens.

I remember Supt Robyn Williams was sacked after 36yrs in the Met because a child abuse video was sent to a Whatapp group she was in for the purpose of raising alarm and reporting the incident. She wasn't aware, didn't open it yet the Met sacked her and continue to use public funds to justify their treatment of her and cheat her out of her job! For weeks I continue to read and hear that Kurt Zuma needs to loose his job for hitting his cat but there's no uproar about the treatment of this girl. When will things change in this country???? Hackney is a very multi-ethnic area so how do they not see the humanity and youth of this child? I feel we need to set up an organisation solely to campaign for and protect the interests of black people in this country. Of course those who benefit from the status quo will find an excuse to silence the objectives; it's divisive, it's fake news, it's BLM, it's disrespectful to the RF etc but things can't continue this way surely???

I hate to talk about racism and prejudice cos it opens wounds and relives experiences one works hard to forget/erase but for this girl's sake I will!!!

What they did to this poor child is absolutely terrible. As an adult I'd be traumatised, as a child , I can't imagine how I'd recover . Heads need to roll over this

I have felt so down today at learning of this girl's treatment. I can't even think how I would feel if I were she or her family.

What kind of savages feel that it was right to treat this child like this?

@emuloc

A poster on the main board said that they have lodged a complaint with the Met. They said that they linked a newspaper article about it, with all the details. I did not know to do that, but I will now be doing the same. We have to let the Met know that this is not good enough. Heads should of rolled over this. This child was treated despicably, there should be a loud noise being made about this, now it has come to light.

I didn't know we could do this. I've now submitted a complaint to the Met Police as a member of the public and linked a newspaper article. Thank you. They can't be allowed to get away with this. It horrifies me. Another assault and dehumanisation of black girls. When will this stop?

I've never heard of children being strip searched by police before. It is utterly revolting. Does anyone wonder if the teachers were in on it somehow? To call the police over a 'smell' and then knowingly hand the child over to be stripped in school while they waited outside? I kind of wonder if the child was targeted somehow by one of the teachers, by a racist/predatory ring perhaps? You hear about these things with the police/authorities. Makes you wonder if there's something dodgy going on.

Posters, if you have not already done so, and want to, please make a complaint to the Met Police online. They have gone too far. We cannot let this pass, without sending them a clear message that what they did was wrong. The trajectory of this girl's life has been changed irrevocably because of what has happened to her.

This poor girl was, according to her family, doing really well at school. One can only imagine the mental impact this has had on her. To take the girl out of an exam in front of the other pupils, and subject her to that! The teacher's would have been well aware of the impact that could have on her exam grades going forward, and chose to remain silent and complicit.

I have made a complaint to the Met.

I fully understand that the girl's school should not be named for fear of the poor child being 'outed' (for want of a better word) but I do strongly believe measures should also be taken against the school & school staff involved.
We leave our children at school with the understanding the staff will look after & protect them - this is a horrendous failure on the part of the school

I want to know why the school called the police and on whose say so. The school should 100% be named and shamed, the headteacher forced to resign.

The problem with naming and shaming the school is that it might identify the child involved.

I absolutely agree that the headteacher, and all staff who failed to stand up for the girl when they had the opportunity should be subject to disciplinary procedures

Hi all,
I hope you don't mind me posting this here, I've posted it on the thread in AIBU.

There is a petition, I don't think I'm allowed to link petitions so I've got a screenshot so you can find it yourselves.

Also there is a protest March organized for Sunday 20th.
We must show this girl we have her back, and show the police we will stand together to combat their racist BS.

The incident happened two years ago. The school can be named in the next 6 months as none of the pupils should be there.

The other issue with naming the school is the safety & well being of the children still attending - a protest outside a school could end up being very upsetting for the kids. That’s not to say the school should not be investigated & people involved held accountable.

Child Q and her family have taken a decision not to give interviews to the press at this stage in an effort to protect Child Q and her privacy. The family request that there be no speculation as to their identities or the identity of Child Q’s school which could, in turn, result in Child Q’s identity becoming known

Child Q said: “I want to thank the thousands of people across the world of all backgrounds who have offered me support – both publicly and through messages conveyed to my legal team – following everything I’ve been through. I know I am not alone
