Do you bathe your children everyday?

Just that really. I bathe my toddler every other day, but I'll admit it might be 2 times a week since being pregnant and struggling with energy. If I leave it to get dad it might be once a month 🙄

Yup. I have all boys. Four of them. I wanted to instil excellent personal hygine before the years they are resistant to it arrived.

Now the 12 and 10 year old keep themselves clean without nagging.

Skyla2005 · 28/07/2021 18:36

I don't really understand people that say they havnt got the time or energy it doesn't take much effort atall to run the bath and just sit with them while they play in there. It's such a nice thing to do before they go to bed but each to their own It was our routine every night. Dinner bath story then bed

Workinghardeveryday · 28/07/2021 18:40

Every single night for all 3. I would hate to go without a bath and wouldn’t feel snuggly for bed. About 6 months ago they didn’t have one as they showered in the morning. They hated it, said they felt uncomfortable - they weren’t dirty or anything.
Like pp, bath, bottle, bed. Now they are older, tea, bath, bed

whatswithtodaytoday · 28/07/2021 18:41

Not every day, it does out his skin and makes him eczema-y. But so does not bathing him. It's a fine balance! Usually every other day works.

whatswithtodaytoday · 28/07/2021 18:41

*dries out

yourestandingonmyneck · 28/07/2021 18:49

No. I do it when we have time or when they are dirty.

Probably every other day so around 3 times a week. If we have a busy week it could be 2 times. If they are filthy and need it it could be more.

We are busy and evenings can be hectic so it's a juggling act to get everything done before they start getting overtired and everything goes to shit. They need to eat, drink and clean teeth so it'll generally be the bath that's ditched if not needed.

Sometimes have a long bath if we don't have plans in the morning, but it's more for playing than having a wash.

If kids aren't dirty they don't need a bath everyday.

Yes a part from Friday night for some weired reason..

Candyapple49 · 28/07/2021 19:09

A bath three times a week before bed and a hair wash . Every morning he has a “body shower “ - a shower without a hair wash as he gets very hot in his sleep and it freshens himself up before getting dressed . He loves the foaming shower gels . He is nearly 6 .

No, 2 times a week. If they’ve got particularly messy/muddy/Sandy as and when. So this week we’re on holiday at the beach so they’ve had a shower rinse down every day. They are 2&4

KitKatKit · 28/07/2021 19:12

Shower rinse down twice a day here!

Maggiesfarm · 28/07/2021 19:14

Mine are grown up now but I did.

redandwhite1 · 28/07/2021 19:15

No because he has eczema so 3-4 times per week is enough

XYZXYZ · 28/07/2021 19:18

LO is only 9 months old and currently has a bath every night. It forms part of his bedtime routine. As he gets older I'll be introducing a morning bath/shower.

tootingbeclido · 28/07/2021 19:23

No. .everyday is just excessive

fizzwhizz1 · 28/07/2021 19:26

Yes! Absolutely! Otherwise they would smell! Do you wash everyday?

Girlintheframe · 28/07/2021 19:27

Mine are grown now but yes every day when they were young.

lboogy · 28/07/2021 20:24

Yes I wash every day but babies and toddlers don't smell. I clean hands and face all the time but my NCT classes advised not to bathe babies everyday and so I got into an every other day habit.

I suppose I probably should do every day to ensure they grow up with the bathe every day mindset too

Their private parts would smell if they aren't bathed

Lndnmummy · 28/07/2021 20:51

Yes everyday, my oldest who is 9 prefers a shower these days but every night before bed.

Hercisback · 28/07/2021 20:54

No.

1&4 yo probably 4 times a week.

Give a quick rinse with a flannel between times if need be. We don't have a bath so it's showers which require an adult to also get wet and we don't have time every day.

Maggiethecat · 28/07/2021 23:54

It formed part of their bedtime routine every night until they were about 6/7. Dinner, bath, story, bed. Also thought it would set up good hygiene habit.
They are much older now - it worked with one child, total miss with the other who seems to be aiming to set the record for low frequency showering 🤬

What shade was that NCT person? I don’t think the advice is really formulated for us and our skin types. Or culture.

EchoNan · 29/07/2021 10:06

Dinner, bath and fun in bath, teeth, story, a little prayer, and bed.
Mine are grown up now. That's the routine for the grandchildren too.
