Steve McQueen is doing some amazing work on documenting Blwck British lives.

If you haven't seen them, I highly recommend Small Axe too: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p08vxt33/episodes/player

I've just finished watching the Small Axe series.
So incredibly thought-provoking and insightful.

I'll look up the other ones, thank you.

Small Axe was just fantastic.

Thanks OP for the links
I'll be watching. I'm old enough to remember these events.
It will be emotional watching it all again so many years on.

NurseButtercup · 14/07/2021 18:05

I'll probably come back to share my thoughts after each episode. Hopefully some of you will join me?

I'd like that @NurseButtercup.
I've been thinking a lot about that year today.
Here am I, in 2021, in what seems like the blink of an eye.

AbsolutelyPatsy · 24/07/2021 20:36

shocking

Misbeehived · 27/07/2021 00:19

It’s amazing. This is history within living memory but feels so shocking. Important documentation of things I only vaguely know about and real insight and humanity - tells you so much about our history and why certain things are as they are. I just wish there was more.

Loved Small Axe too. Lovers Rock my absolute favourite although the first about the mangrove is incredible.
