Hair dryer for afro hair

Morning ladies. Could anyone recommend a hair dryer with a comb attachment? I have mid length 4c natural hair. I like to blow dry my hair occasionally but have so far had very limited success with dryers. The comb attachments seem to break or fall off. Just wondering if anyone has had more success? Thanks

I’ve recently bought the revlon one step hair, if you google it with ‘Afro hair’ there are a few reviews.

I haven’t actually used it yet (relaxed hair), plan to today so I’ll feed back!

I have/had an ioniser thing but it’s cracked hence the nee purchase.

Wahl do a good hair dryer with Afro comb - had one years ago

Thanks, I will look into the Revlon one. Alas, I have tried Wahl a couple of times and both broke! I fear it might be me...

I second the Revlon One step- I use it on my dd and it works brilliant. Also the Devacurl devadryer!

I have never had success with attached combs. I have a Parlux dryer and use a separate ceramic round brush and paddle brush to straighten. Since going natural I need a round brush to get the roots taut. The Parlux has been an amazing buy - it gets my natural hair looking really sleek

Wahl do a blow dryer with a Pik attached.

Floraflower3 · 02/01/2021 23:06

Dyson supersonic hairdryer has a pik attachment :)

I have the dyson air wrap which is helpful (relaxed hair here) and would work on natural hair too! You can YouTube reviews of both.

TravelGem · 02/01/2021 23:13

I have the dyson hairdryer but I also have relaxed hair - it works well with the pik but the teeth are pretty far apart.

You may be having issues with your old dryers as you're not suppose the use the pik on the hottest settings or speeds if I remember correctly

I've heard that the Dyson is a fantastic hairdryer, but wasn't sure if that just referred to European hair. Has anyone here used it on very thick Afro hair before, and how did you get on with it?

PompomDahlia · 03/01/2021 18:02

My DH got a Dyson and I've tried it a couple of times on my natural 3b hair. I used it with a separate brush and didn't get a good result - my hair was very frizzy and dry. My Parlux works much better for avoiding frizz

Hmm, the Dyson costs quite a few pennies more than the Revlon. I think I will give the Revlon a try first! Thanks for the ideas

Another vote for Parlux here

Which revlon do people mean? I tried the one step that looks like a paddle brush but not even slightly impressed! Now see there is also a barrel versionConfused
