Hi everyone.
Any news from Worried??

Elina has green poo. Has anyone else experienced this? She is formula fed and I have read lots of diffeent things. Some say she could be dehydrated, othes say it is nothing. Not sure what to think. She poos every day, it is mainly green and then finishes off yellow. Sorry for yukky chat .

She has also been sick a few times shortly after feeds. She projectild the night before last and then this morning her entire feed seemed to end up all over herself. I am trying not to lay her down so soon after feeding and she has managed to keep her last feed down

It is so warm here and the sun has come out today.Don't know how you are surviving the heat in the UK as I have heard it is scorching. I have been unsure how many layers (if any) to put on Elina after having had 2 winter babies before. She is currently in a short sleeved vest with a small top over it, no socks.

chocciedooby · 03/07/2009 14:50

Oh I also had to go to the DR yesterday about my BP. I have high BP again (since labour) so am on medication. It's no bother. Used to it really. I had the dr check Elina as she has some marks on the back of her neck. He told me they are "Stork" marks (birth marks that fade)!!!Quite cute really.

Still have 18lbs to lose in weight to get to pre-pregnancy. Would like to lose more.
I have stopped bleeding already which has surprised me as was 9 weeks with DSs. How is everyone else?

Tee2072 · 03/07/2009 14:53

choccie Adam had that for a few days as well so I called the GP. Its nothing. Their pooh changes colour. So long as it isn't white or black? Not a worry!! He also throws up regularly. It usually means a bubble that didn't burp out and a baby that ate too fast! Also nothing to worry about!

ermintrude13 · 03/07/2009 15:37

choccie my DS1, like my DH, has stork marks on his neck that will prob never go. Just about hidden by hairline but I still like finding them there

As Tee says, baby poo comes in lots of flavours. Breastmilk stuff is often green or yellow. Changes in texture are more important eg if there's mucus in it. No such thing as TMI where babies are concerned.

Hope to hear from worriedamy soon.

lauraloo Can Sarah send some notes on How To Sleep At Night to Arthur please?

hi everyone else /waves

Tee2072 · 03/07/2009 15:50

Oh, thanks for reminding me erm. There was also mucus in it when I called the GP and he said to not worry about that either unless it persisted over the weekend. It was gone at his next nappy change!

Hi Juners!

Flash post, I promise I'll catch up later but I just saw a thread/post by Roseabilily and thought she would really appreciate some advice from Juners that already have more than one baby. She's had a bad day today.

Here's the link if you want to post:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/parenting/784216-I-pushed-my-DS?ts=1246641243834

I hope I've added the link properly

See you later!!! (((waves)))

helpivegottogivebirth · 03/07/2009 18:30

i've added some photos of me and Polly Diana to my profile page if anyone wants to have a look at the little alien!

ermintrude13 · 03/07/2009 19:29

help, she's a little cutie. Alien indeed! Although, I think newborns always look a little non-human at first, you can see why people talked about changelings being left. Arthur's various expressions make him look like a puppy, the baby from Ice Age and my friend's 55 yr old husband who is as wide as he is tall. All in extra adorable versions of course .

And June, I loved Calypso's pool pic. She looks scarily grown-up already, good neck control!

choccie Arthur has just been dressed in a short-sleeved bodysuit. Anything else would be too much - and i've just put a muslin over him for naps because he kicks about even if covered by a cotton sheet. I've asked my sisters to get him all-in-one romper type things because if the weather stays this warm he's never going to need a babygro al summer. I'm v glad I didn't buy anything for him - both for that reason and because newborn sizes are already too small for the little bruiser.

June2009 · 03/07/2009 23:48

Congrats worried :D

choccie I'e pretty much stopped bleeding as well but I'm not throwing the maternity towels away yet, apparently the bleeding can come back, especially if you do too much one day.

Calypso's been sleeping in her nappy with a muslin square on top as it's close to 27C in the bedroom (80.6F)

She's also got nappy rash today and wind (infacol seems to be giving her a little relief but not enough, it looks really painful

I went to the doctors today as well for a rash, some more iron tablets and a quick check over my wound as it was bleeding yesterday, all normal says the GP.

hey, does anyone have clear guidelines about bottle feeding?
The mw said we could up the amount to 4 ounces (120 ml) but she didnt say if that means we need to drop to 5 feeds instead of 6. (the formla box says 5, we've been doing 6 for 3 ounces/90 ml).

I'm really impressed with everyone breastfeeding, I'll definitely try again next time, there were too many things against it/me this time round.

Someone asked how many children I was hoping for, well, I realise that we should have started earlier (I'm 32 now) but I would love 4 or 5 children. My gran had 13 and I just love my big family :D

I've started writing my birth story, now everyone's had their baby it won't put anyone off ;)

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 04/07/2009 01:24

Congratulations worried - what fantastic news!

Went to bed at 8.30 and have had one hour's sleep since then. Colic really bloody sucks! Emily will only sleep absolutely upright (but not over my shoulder or chest) so I'm literally holding her under her armpits to get her to sleep. I've just put her on her side on a huge pillow propped up and she seems to be okay, but not holding my breath just yet.

We're supposed to be going to the farm with DS today.... I'll be like a zombie. DH's family are lovely, but really fussy and will firing questions all day about Emily with 'helpful' suggestions as to what might help her. Lovely, and well-intentioned, but not what I'll want on zero sleep..... ho hum.

Hope all you other mummies are getting some shut-eye.... I'm going to leave it 5 mins before I take Emily back upstairs to see if I can get her to sleep there. No doubt she'll be waking for a feed in an hour anyway.....

Tee2072 · 04/07/2009 03:13

june I feed on demand and Adam is having between 70 - 120 ml about 6 times a day. He is offered 120, but he doesn't always finish it!! He just finished 80, for example and has dozed off against my chest after a huge burp!! He might wake up for the rest in a minute or two, he might not!!

One handed typing is fun!!!

silkcushion · 04/07/2009 08:31

hello all checking in - not had much time to myself as dh myself and the girls have been making the most of the sunshine and his last few dyas paternity leave to getr out and about.

Worried congratulations on the birth of Caelan

Love the thread title suiggestions - esp the one about typing as I'm sure we're all one finger wonders now

Tee2072 · 04/07/2009 08:43

I went ahead and started us a post natal thread here!!

chocciedooby · 05/07/2009 11:12

Congratulations Worried Well done. Hope you are feeling ok

chocciedooby · 05/07/2009 11:19

Thanks for the comments on the green poo ladies.

I wasn't too concerned but wanted to run it past you all. It is varying between green and yellow but there is no mucus present so all is ok.

Tee - Adam seems to be very like Elina. I feed her the same amounts and regularity as you do and she is very content.

ineed - sorry to hear Emily has Colic. That must be very hard to deal with. My DS1 had it a bit but as he got older it petered out. I hope it doesn't go on too long for you both.

June - same here re: pads. I am now using Always Ultra just in case and on some days there is a little something so can never be too sure. I feel pretty good though, if a little tired at times.Sounds like you are doing just fine with the bottle feeding. Elina has 5/6 feeds a day. I feed on demand but it is normally every 3-4 hours. She also has anything between 2 and a half ozs and 5ozs!

Weather has cooled down a little here so back in little trousers and top
