It all seems unbelievable that we have to do this so far in advance but, apparently, we do...I dont even have a baby yet! Can any one tell me if taking your own meals is as much of a faff as my friends make out? It seems that any friends who have told me this haven't ever done it. I enjoy cooking but dont' want to add unnecessarily to my day. Presumably I will be able to take along something that has been purreed and then frozen?

I guess it depends on the nursery and how much you like/value the other good stuff about it.

Tbh, I love the fact that I don't have to feed DS1 for 4 days a week (he has all 3 meals there although he does tend to have a breakfast at home plus one there). He is a bit of a fussy eater at home and I always struggle to think of things to give him. He is also much more willing to try new things at nursery.

But my friend has a DS who is lactose-intolerant so they have been providing his meals at nursery since he started 2 years ago - I don't think it has been too hard for them.

I agree with ceebee74 about children eating food at nursery they wouldnt eat at home, both of mine do that,. But, if you do a big batch of cooking at the weekend for the week, it shouldnt be too much of a hassle. it depends how much you prefer the nursery.
