Overdue 7 April - VBAC - Consultant tomorrow - no way to c-section

Perhaps, in hind sight, and knowing all the facts I would of tried to have given birth to baby No 1 naturally with more assistance by OH instead of opting for c-section under pressure because now I am under a consultant and tomorrow is my appointment to arrange a c-section. I dont want a c-section for reasons that many will know. I want a VBAC. There are no health problems with me or baby just not complying with the strict EDD scan date. My original date was 10th April so 3 days difference.

I'm under Gwent NHS Trust. I wish to push for more time, how far can I realistically push?

Can I request an artifical rupture of membrance insteed of inducement as Iknow they will not induce.

The last 7 days have been so stressful as I feel so under pressure to comply.

I need realistic help on this one. Can anyone point me in the right direction. I've even thought of mot turning up at appointment!

you can refuse a c.section

you cannot be forced to have one

you can be advised the pros and cons of c.s V VBAC and of going post dates

your best chance of a succesful VBAC starts with a spontaneous start to labour

you can require expectant management, i.e more monitoring and scans, and then an appointment at 42 weeks to discuss either a gentle induction or a planned c.s, some trusts will induce with a pessary.

you do not have to book a section tomorrow for a particular date.

i don;t know your history but i presume oyu have done your research and looked into it all, in which case you are quite withing your rights to decline the chance to book a c.s unitl you are ready
