MM - have a lovely meal, I doubt there will be any news from me, things are just the same. Saying that though, I don't fancy this for the next 3 weeks!

Bleu is the best bet tonight!!

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 27/03/2009 19:56

Come on babies!!! Out you come!

DH has just called, he's on his way home from squash and is taking me out to Nando's for dinner. I love that man...

There had better be some huffing and puffing when I get back...

PuzzleRocks · 27/03/2009 20:22

With DD I had breakfast at 8am and didn't eat again until I was on the postnatal ward at 10ish that evening. It just didn't occur to me. I was exhausted and with hindsight really could have used a refuel to keep me going but there is one advantage..

You don't poo in labour.

LuLuBai · 27/03/2009 20:25

Harumph - still no babies!?!

Right well I'm unlikely to be online again for a good few days now as will be busy with sorting out house. Don't know when we will get the computer hooked up, but sorting out beds / moses baskets / wardrobes / stairgates blah blah blah will unfortanately take priority.

I will text Puzzle if my baby decides to make a break for freedom. But TBH I could probably go on as I am for ages. Plenty period crampy, back achey but based on previous form I will still be waddling around feeling like there is a coconut between my legs for the next month.

Hope there are lots of lovely little babies when I next log on.

XXX

surprisenumber3 · 27/03/2009 20:26

lol puzzle, I was dreading that. As it was, I went to the loo so many times during labour that I am sure I was 'empty' by the time the pushing stage came (sorry if TMI!!).

I admire the brave women who eat hot curries to bring on labour...

surprisenumber3 · 27/03/2009 20:27

good luck with the house sorting Lulu, I know what you mean about the coconut!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 27/03/2009 20:28

Puzzle - poo free sounds good to me

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 27/03/2009 20:29

LuLu - Good luck!! enjoy your new house

PuzzleRocks · 27/03/2009 20:32

Lulu - On the off chance something does happen I have my phone on silent at night so don't worry about texting at any time. 11pm, 3am, 5am, are all ok.

Don't work too hard, and get your arse back here soon. x

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 27/03/2009 20:42

oh we've got a lovely bunch of coconuts diddly di di .......

Lou - good luck with the scan on monday

Suprise - nevermind, hopefully something will happen soon

Bleu - get a move on!!!

Kitty - have a nice evening

SpringySunshine · 27/03/2009 20:51

Boff, your 'only gay in the village' comparison just made me choke on my Mini Eggs

I would look fabulous in hotpants at the moment, I don't know what you're all going on about. I'd get mistaken for a Cheeky Girl if I wasn't careful.

surprise, your DS's dressing up sounds lovely. A nap may have been lovelier, but still

MM, that'll teach you for having RL friends Well done for getting your project sent off

I've never seen The Incredibles either, but DH always says that Edna Mode is Gok Wan in cartoon form. I love Gok & am not sure how complimentary that comparison is

Smutts, that's one hell of a costume

Oh Kitty, I want to go to Nando's I've just had my second bag of Mini Eggs of the evening though, so...

Schulte · 27/03/2009 20:52

Me again. OddEyes, did you give all your and your surgery's details when you phoned the HiP office? I was yesterday when they rang me up to ask if I had received the form now so they are not quite as useless as they seem!

Puzzle seriously as this pregnancy is coming to and end and I KNOW it's going to be my last one I am starting to quite like it all well maybe except from when DD jumps on my belly.

Labour snacks... last time I had cereal bars only and I got so fed up with them after the fifth one. Bananas are probably good if you can remember to pack them last minute. Also dextrose tablets but not sure where to buy them from. Any ideas?

BTW after the birth I was SO hungry and I had missed dinner time on the ward so DH had to go on a mission to find me a really crappy meal. I think every woman who's just had a baby should be served a four course meal including champagne, wine and a selection of runny cheeses, no?

For the Kingston bunch: Apparently DH's can get snack packs while you're in labour - a sandwich, crisps, chocolate and a drink.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 27/03/2009 20:54

Springy - @ cheeky girl

SpringySunshine · 27/03/2009 20:56

Schulte, I think you're mad. Enjoying pregnancy? Especially at this point? There's definitely some strange hormonal thing going on there that isn't quite right

I threw my bottle of water at the floor in a massive strop about 45 minutes ago, because DH dared to shift a little whilst we were cuddling & it made me more uncomfortable. How dare he?

I'm becoming a hideous cross between toddler & teenager. It's embarrassing as much as anything!

Bleuravin · 27/03/2009 20:56

I really don't think we're going to have action on my part this evening (at least not baby action)... though nothing has stopped...just staying quietly constant in my back and lower bits...
Dh did um have a little feel, but he's not sure what he's feeling for, so not sure how far I'm dialated, if at all...might have another feel more intimate this evening
Off to have a little something to eat then probably to bed...
I'll check in tomorrow.

SpringySunshine · 27/03/2009 20:57

Touch my bum, this is life...

& so on

SpringySunshine · 27/03/2009 20:58

Good luck, Bleu - I'm sending labour vibes your way! Make sure you keep us updated!

Schulte · 27/03/2009 21:00

Pooing in labour... DH had to come to the loo with me to hold the TENS machine and the cables of the baby monitor...

No coconuts here but LO seems to like wine - she's been dancing ever since I had a sneaky little glass earlier.

Schulte · 27/03/2009 21:03

Yes good luck Bleu, and LuLu with the new house!

Springy it's mainly because I am so terrified of what it's going to be like once the baby is out. My friends who had their second DCs recently keep telling me horror stories.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 27/03/2009 21:04

Bleu - good luck

Springy - the song was made for you

Schulte - i dont think you would be allowed dextrose tablets as its like a sweet form of isotonic drinks isn't it and there are huge posters all over the vending machines in the mat hospital round my way saying labouring women arent allowed them for some reason??

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 27/03/2009 21:06

apparently i did a very small poo during labour dh didnt tell me till ages after though

Schulte · 27/03/2009 21:06

My NCT teacher recommended them Nutty - can't imagine why they would be bad for you?

SpringySunshine · 27/03/2009 21:11

You can buy Lucozade tablets - I found out about them on MN, where people had used them. I'm not sure about you not being allowed isotonic drinks? I mean you may well be right, but I've just not come across that. I'll just have to be sneakier about it than I thought

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 27/03/2009 21:11

Shulte - no idea, but if it was reccomended then i'm clearly barking up the wrong tree

OddEyes · 27/03/2009 21:12

yes schulte gave them all details of hospital and docs - hope to hear something soon.

snack wise i have:
multipack of chedderies
jellybabys
chocolate
mango juice with straws
water bottles (in fridge)
travel sweets to suck

last time i took ceral bars, seeds and the like but just wanted sugar
